August Adventures

August has been a fun filled month. We saw lots of live music, swam at the local lake, camped on the other side of the pass, saw wild animals (that weren't so wild) and ate lots of yummy food.
Foxtrot started to practice his pole dancing and

thought it was a real hoot.

He practiced his Stevie Wonder and

thought papa foxtrot should try it too.

With his wild dance moves he really cleared the dance floor.

We ate big, soft, gooey, baked goods and

lots of watermelon.

We saw lions and tigers and elephants, oh my!

Foxtrot practiced his running and

curled up with some wolf pups.

(too cute. like father like son)

I think Lainie has a similar photo of me in a turtle shell from about 20 years ago.

We went camping and

flirting and

got dirty EVERY day.

Cheers to a fabulous August. Lots of blackberries and salmon to stock up for winter. 3 dozen jars of jam already and Papa is in the kitchen right now bottling up some blackberry beer and starting a batch of blackberry wine. Oh sweet sweet summer, don't end.

The Apple Doesn't Fall Far

Foxtrot got a package yesterday from Lainie. Inside was the cutest little knit hat. Lainie has been crafting Foxtrot hats since Christmas, but Foxtrot's noggin is growing so fast (it must be all the brain food he has been eating) that they have only been fitting for a short time. But this one. This is a keeper. It's a little Rasta, a little Parisian, and a lot adorable. The colors are great, too.

While Lainie was knitting up Foxtrot a little present. I was crocheting a little Gnome hat for a new Foxtrot friend that is on the way. Unfortunately, we didn't make it to the baby shower because we have been sleep training. (Regular nap times, putting him down awake, letting him cry for a while.) Up until last night Papa Foxtrot and I had not gotten more than 3 hours of sleep at a time for a month and a half. But last night that little bugger slept for 8 hours. I feel like a new woman.
