Garden Gnomes Everywhere

Earlier this month I crocheted a hat for a new Foxtrot friend. I loved it so much that I made one for Foxtrot and one for our neighbor's grandson. Foxtrot is such a good little garden gnome. He loves to get his hands... and mouth... filled with dirt.
Here he is modeling the neighbor's hat.

Here he is drinking his 40 of Becks.

It makes him silly.

And here Baby Blue is in the garden,

Wondering why someone would cut down such a big cedar tree.

I can see more gnome hats in our future

Happy Birthday Brother AlphaShak

We told Foxtrot that today is his Uncle's birthday. We told him that he is on the USS Ronald Reagan in the middle of the Pacific Ocean providing relief to Japan after the earthquake and tsunami. We told him that we would not get to wish him a happy birthday in person or over the phone.

He was so sad.

Then we told him we would have cake to celebrate.

Yum.

Although brother is not able to read the blog at this time because he is on the ship, we send him lots of love, peace, and positive energy.

The Apple Doesn't Fall Far

Foxtrot got a package yesterday from Lainie. Inside was the cutest little knit hat. Lainie has been crafting Foxtrot hats since Christmas, but Foxtrot's noggin is growing so fast (it must be all the brain food he has been eating) that they have only been fitting for a short time. But this one. This is a keeper. It's a little Rasta, a little Parisian, and a lot adorable. The colors are great, too.

While Lainie was knitting up Foxtrot a little present. I was crocheting a little Gnome hat for a new Foxtrot friend that is on the way. Unfortunately, we didn't make it to the baby shower because we have been sleep training. (Regular nap times, putting him down awake, letting him cry for a while.) Up until last night Papa Foxtrot and I had not gotten more than 3 hours of sleep at a time for a month and a half. But last night that little bugger slept for 8 hours. I feel like a new woman.

Rose Buds

I know that many readers (all 6 of you) have been wondering where Foxtrot has gone. It has been a long two weeks without any posts. Have no fear. All is well. We had a house guest.

Who? Who?

Aunt Peter. My college roommate from the big state of New York came to visit this week. It was wonderful. The snow melted and the clouds cleared and we all got out of the house and did some local tourist activities. Aunt Peter had not yet met Foxtrot and I could tell that she enjoyed every minute with the little bugger. (Except maybe the night he decided to wake up at midnight and scream for an hour.) We were sad to see her go. But she promised to return soon. And maybe a trip to her summer home in Myrtle Beach, SC might be in order.

Foxtrot also had his nine month check up this week. He weights in at 19 pounds 5 ounces, 27 and 1/8
inches long, and 18 centimeters around the brain. He is a healthy baby. Still no teeth.

And with all the catching up that Aunt Peter and I had to do, Papa Foxtrot got some much needed alone time.
