Maybe you got a sweet little card in the mail . . .
Well, here is the master at work . . .
Foxtrot loves writing thank you cards. . . . Well actually . . . not really . . . I just pretend he does.

Long over due. . .
As father's day sneaks up on Foxtrot and I, I thought I would take a moment to show off my amazing mother's day gift from Papa Foxtrot. Mother's Day? Are you serious? That was a month ago. I know I know. But I told this chick that I would post a photo, and I never did. Between working here, taking a neuroanatomy final from last year, sunny weather in the northwest, gardening, and planning a birthday party for Foxtrot, blogging has taken a back seat. But I do have oh so much I want to share, so don't hold your breath, but Footloose foxtrot might be back up and running. So without further ado. . . here is a photo of my AMAZING mother's day gift.
There is our little 11 month old. . . But. . .
Wait for it. . . What is it?
Ahh. . . . It is an awesome magnetized chalk board. Papa Foxtrot (with help from Ranger Ricky, since Papa broke his hand playing Frisbee) took doors off a side by side refrigerator, spray painted them with chalk paint, and mounted them to our pony wall. Now Foxtrot and I have an art space right in the living room. It is super cool. I am sure Martha wants him on her show.

For Real, What has Foxtrot been up to?
Okay, like all new things that begin around the new year, my blog excitement is dwindling. Or maybe it has to do with all of the new projects I have put on my plate. Still I want to share with my readers, all 5 of you, what the little man has been up to. How about we go on a photo journey . . .
He visited with the Garden Girls.
Mama Foxtrot showed some of the crafts.
He broke his first tooth and wasn't feeling too well.
He got older.
Mama, Papa, and Foxtrot Foxtrot play in the sun.
Granimal showed him the sandbar.
Papa Foxtrot basks in Foxtrot Foxtrot's light.
He found the puddle.
He played on the sandbar, again, naked.
And he had an easter egg hunt.
April has been shaping up pretty nicely.
I've even planted some veggies.

Playing with the Queen of Hearts
Our first Valentine's day as a threesome. A lot of love to be shared today. And we even sent some love out with our super sweet homemade valentine's.
Foxtrot CRAWLED around the kitchen chasing Maddie and Maxx. When he got close enough that he might touch one of them he would sit, squeal at the top of his lungs, and stretch his arms out in front of him as if he was casting a spell. The dogs quickly moved to the opposite side of the kitchen and waited for him to get close again. The dogs were not about to leave the kitchen when they new this delicious meal was on the stove.
Yup those are heart shaped cheeseburgers and beats. I have not honed by food photography skills, but all in due time.
And here are some photos of our Foxtrot boot-scoot-boogieing.

A Finished Wedding Quilt
Sister and Brother Stone finally received their wedding quilt I began last July. Yip Yip! Now I can share the photo!
And here is Foxtrot checking out Boogie Woogie, Margarita, and the rest of the cattle on the farm.

Navy Blue
Grandma got Foxtrot a new carpet for Christmas to prevent him from breaking his face on our concrete floors as he learns to walk and crawl. Foxtrot is a happy little baby. He has even taken to dancing with joy. To outsiders, he might just look like he is shaking his head "no." But we know he is really following in his daddy's footprints and learning how to break dance. He danced so much this afternoon that he put himself to sleep on the navy blue carpet.
While Foxtrot slept, I crafted up this on-the-go drawing kit for little tykes out of some scrap fabric.

for the birds.
Long, Long ago. . . probably close to a year ago, when baby foxtrot was still growing within, Daddy Foxtrot started nesting. He brought home house plants and . . . birds. . . Ringo, Robirda, and Richard. We picked out a beautiful cage. Ringo and Richard sing some lovely songs. Robirda has left us many eggs and last summer we even had 7 birds living in the cage. Hubby built them a little aviary on the porch so they could fly around on nice days. The winter months have been cold and the birds have been making a mess inside. So I made this little ditty yesterday.
I don't know why I didn't do it sooner, but in less than an hour, while the little fox danced in his johnny jump-up, it was made.

Hey Chair.
Hubby Foxtrot and I have been very thrifty when it comes to baby. We have been very cautious about buying anything new, especially if it is from China. In the world of baby goods, I must say there is just too much.
This little baby loves a set of measuring spoons or a cereal box just as much, if not more than his colorful plastic talking toys. We have spent a lot of time finding clothes, toys, and other baby goods at second hand stores. Babies grow so fast and most of the hunky, bulky, plastic, primary colored goods end up in a land fill, I don't know that for a fact, but it has got to be true. We didn't want to add to the already growing piles of waste.
So we found this. From here.
We have a small home and this little chair was the perfect size and the perfect price. (10 bucks!) The color and stains I could have done without. But we brought that baby home and the husband quickly got to work cleaning it. And then we realized why it was such a perfect price. The cover didn't come off without the use of hardware and 15 minutes!? What? Why would a manufacturer do that to a family? A baby chair is a sticky, messy place and it is nice to be able to wash it once and a while.
So I remedied that, with this.
This sweet little slip cover was easy to make, easy to remove, and easy to wash. All momma's need a little ease in their lives. The whole project should have taken maybe two hours, but when tangoing with baby foxtrot all day, it took a little longer. But hey, I got it all done in one day. (And I had time to make cream of broccoli soup. I'll share my secrets for a perfect roux another day.)
